Hard to believe we're at the quarterfinals already!

I know! And we've had some really great matches already, including ones worthy of final/semifinal. Should be good quarters too. I don't foresee any blowouts except for Serena-Caro. I'm surprised that Kei made it through though. I guess he was having a great day and Ferrer a mediocre one.

Azarenka has come out absolutely on fire. Both players are murdering the ball, but Azarenka takes the ball earlier, which is working out better on this surface.

She went up a quick break and is serving at 4-2 but went on a small walkabout to fall to 0-40. Can she climb out?

Not imediately, but it's a good match.

On court one Murray is winning without any difficulty. Probably the easiest part of his draw.

Totally missed Kei winning yesterday.

Awesome result thus far. I thought he had an okay chance at Ferrer, but he'll have less of a chance today, I think. But how wild would it be to have him in the semis with a (super remote) chance at a medal?

Almagro seemed quite in pain

That explains the scoreline. Not that he would have much of a chance even if healthy... I have only Vika's match on TV at the moment.

Really? An injury would explain why he got crushed in the second set. I expected a healthy Almagro to lose to Murray 6-4 6-4.

I'll bet Del Potro felt better about his chances when Kei won.

Interesting that Goerges and Lisicki went for the German flag on their dresses. Kerber has the shield/emblem/crest. OK, when I say 'interesting' I may be overselling it a tad.

Appeared to be some kind of a shoulder injury. Had it been a regular tour match then I think he might have retired.

Wasn't watching until into the second set. Kerber can't have had many straightforward services games. Hard to keep fighting off that sort of pressure. Smothering consistency from Victoria.

And Azarenka is through in straights. She looked very good out there. Could give Serena a serious fight. Also, thumbs up to Kerber for fighting as hard as she could even facing match points.

Man. Serena is determined. She is stomping through this tournament.

Serena only lost 2 points on serve that first set. Sheesh!

I totally didn't expect a 6-0 set. She did get a little help from Caro, but she's been playing well and handling the wind.

Kirilenko wins the first set on the tiebreak. Not a lot in it (no break points at all, which is odd in a Petra match). Kirilenko is hardly making any unforced errors and her second serve is holding up well.

There aren't that many people on court 2 but they are making a good amount of noise.

Petra's ROS is nonexistent today. Being a Petra fan sucks.

Another good thing about watching in Canada...we have a second language of channels to watch (I can only find Djokovic-Tsonga on RDS-2 our French TSN)
