You should have more faith in Big Sexy anyway. She's like a top 10 player on grass and she is basically playing today to extend her season If she loses, it will be back to her life traveling the world, visiting cities that happen to be holding tennis tournaments......for the next 11 months
You left out appearing on the cover of "Vogue". Well, at least the Bulgarian "Vogue".

She should beat Flavia - and I'd say she's got a fair shot against Petra, if the draw follows seeding for next round. Then I think she's got a decent shot at a medal match.

Careful Moose. A little faith is good. Anything above that is setting yourself for tennis fan misery!

Everyone has a shot against Petra Not that they necessarily have a big say in the way the match will unfold. But I'll not be surprised if Peng beats Kvitova today (see that 'little faith and no more' thing above!)

Robson wins against Safarova. A few signs of progress from her recently. It's easy to forget that she is still young.

I think my mailman is stealing my Bulgarian Vogue subscription each month

You mean "Future Top 5 Player" Peng Shuai? We've had a lot of fun with her over the years here.

I have some photos of Big Sexy from the practice courts at Indian Wells last year that would not get past the censors at Bulgarian Vogue. I'll have to track down a couple for you.

Unless, Kim Clijsters, Venus Williams, Sara Errani and Carla Suarez all begged to NOT be on Centre, there's absolutely no reason for Wozniacki to be scheduled there again, even if it's a repeat of a former US Open semifinal

(I understand S. Williams - U. Radwanska being on Ct. 1 - less interesting matchup)
My guess is very few other players could take that last slot of the day on Centre because they have to play doubles.

Hey, she can run and defend. If you can make Petra hit more than 5 shots then the chances are you'll get an unforced error from her.

I'm only following that one on the scoreboard. Kvitova off to a terrible start (shock!).......6 UEs in the first game and a half. Has managed to turn it around and get the first set. Never know when the wheels are going to come off next with her though........oh, there you go, broken right at the start of the 2nd

What did I do to end up supporting her and Murray?

And it's only now that I'm finding out that you are the contact for all tennis related snuff?! I'll trade you some baseball cards and some smokes for a Pironkova poster. It will obscure the tunnel I'm digging to get myself out of this prison.

Azarenka could have taken that slot and someone else would go first

Kinda odd to see Kim wearing adidas kit. I presume they are the official supplier for Belgium, but normally the bigger players stay with their own personal sponsor.

There was a great roar from the crowd when Serena and Venus were announced for their doubles match out on court 2. Good atmosphere on that court for the higher profile doubles teams.

Kim initially turned down the chance to play in the '04 games because she could not wear Fila. Of course, she then had the wrist injury, so we'll never know if it could have been worked out, a la Michael Jordan.

I find it hard to believe that it's both Kim's first, and final Olympics.

Don't think they wanted to put a delayed first-round match out last, but yeah, it was a pretty odd schedule that resulted in 18-19 Wimbledon singles titles being represented on court all at once (Roger, Serena, Venus, Petra, and maybe Lleyton? Can't remember exactly if there was overlap.)

Is bizarre that such a thing would keep someone out of an Olympics. Especially a legitimate contender. I take it Belgium are locked into a very strict contract.

Court Watch
They are a lot better today after some sun and general wear & tear. If anything, I would say it was the 2 main show courts that were the slickest - possibly because more effort was probably made/required to try and regenerate them. As long as they stand up to all the matches then I would say that they are going to be fine to play on now ie we won't see many players falling around.
