Zimo/Llodra break up, or is this just Olympic prep?

Mika is playing with Arnaud (I would have thought if he was getting ready for Olympics, he might be playing with a higher ranked Frenchman, though he and Clement have had success in doubles in the past).

Zimo is teaming with Peya (Marach still out I guess) - and surprised he would not take time to get in some work with a likely Serbian doubles partner (Novak, who may have just taken a pass, I guess).

WELL, I'd say winning Wimbledon together would be having some success. (albeit, 1997)

Marach/Peya broke up earlier this year. (I found out because I was wondering why Peya was playing with Paes at the French Open.) Zimo's playing with Janko at the Olympics (who, like Novak, probably wasn't willing to risk his prep for singles by doubling up, as it were).

Llodra will be playing with Tsonga at the Olympics; the other pair France nominated was Benneteau/Gasquet, but you have Benneteau/Mahut here -- I would guess both Tsonga and Gasquet unavailable for the same reasons. (And Benneteau/Mahut made it to the finals at Bercy last year.)

Wasn't that back when Mika was 12, and Arnaud was in his early 30s

You might want to move that up 10 years.

Wonder what happened between Indian Wells and the French? Scotty and I saw them at IW, both at practice and in a match, and they were quite dreamy good.

Just saw, Marach is playing with Dustin Brown.

So are Llodra/Zimo done, or just taking a break here? While I love the both of them, I wonder if not being able to win the biggest matches together was a problem.

Marach really does have an impressive set of guns. I'll have to dig up some of the photos I took at Bercy (God love Court 1!). His website says "unfulfilled goals due to his susceptibility to injuries this season were the reason behind the break-up" (http://www.olivermarach.com/en/news/...part-ways.html).

At Zimo's site: "That match [their loss at RG] also was the last to Zimonjic and Llodra in the foreseeable future, as will the two make a break in cooperation, as a Frenchman waits third child." Not sure whether "foreseeable" goes beyond the Olympics ....

For us, at least. Petrova and Kirilenko probably aren't loving it.
