It's so funny - right before it started, I was thinking "ooh, I really hope Michael Chang made it on and then BANG, right off the bat.

How he's below Pat Cash, I'll never know but whatever

A couple of thoughts

- Sharapova is several spots lower than I would have thought.

- They're really determined to represent all eras and good on 'em for trying to do what is essentially impossible

- It's hard to deny Kuznetsova a spot...I guess...but 100 greatest of all time? If Gaudio stumbled into another Roland Garros, I wonder if they would have given him a spot.

- It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like there's no spot for Michael Stich, Goran Ivanisevic or even Sergi Bruguera

- Lindsay, Kim and Arantxa coming all right next to each other, but in the exact reverse order I would put them in.

- They didn't explain the criteria especially well. They said that they were using data-driven criteria but Yannick Noah being on here really strongly implies subjective factors were considered.

Oh, and I'm really enjoying the program itself. I mean, with the lower ranked players, we're only getting a minute or two on them, but it's pretty educational. I know infinitely more things about Nicola Pietrangeli and Tony Wilding than I did on Sunday.

My only thought is that Mauresmo got boned (funny thought given her preferences.)

She and Mary Pierce should both be a little higher IMO

I didn't catch last night's episode but I cannot think of any rationale for Connors and Serena Williams being below John McEnroe. The numbers aren't there and he hasn't had a significantly bigger impact on the game than those 2. I'd say Serena has had a bigger impact. That's really bizarre to me.

I'm not American and not a particular fan of the guys I'm about to mention but I definitely think consistency and longevity were underrated. I refer to Roddick and Connors.

Not sure how Connors and Roddick belongs in the same sentence. Besides Andy hasn't had any above average longevity.

I agree. Actually, I was surprised Serena isn't in the top 10.

Then again, a list like this has to come down to subjective preferences. It's fun, of course. But it does seem pretty random for the most part.
I (randomly) think Suzanne Lenglen as the first female superstar of the tennis world should be ranked higher as well.

I think he might have meant "consistency and longevity," like as two interrelated things. Andy was constantly in the top ten (save for like 3 weeks) from 2002-2011. It's certainly an above-average streak. Borderline rare.

Yep, I think that's it. I'm thinking they'll do:

10. Borg
9. Nadal
8. King
7. Laver
6. Mean Australian Lady
5. Evert
4. Sampras
3. Federer
2. Graf
1. Navratilova

But, of course, it's kind of a crapshoot. 10-8 are completely interchangeable.

Well this has kinda fallen apart. They're on Steffi Graf and like every single person is basically like, "well obviously Steffi's the greatest of all time" and "she's definitely the greatest ever." Except she's #3 on this countdown. Totally weird.

This is so weird. Roger is #1 and half the conversation has been about the reservations everyone has about putting Roger at #1 ("hmm, he needs to figure out how to beat Rafa") and all the endorsements for Steffi and Laver and Martina were much more ringing. That was totally bizarre.

Jon made a really good point when he said Sampras couldn't beat anyone on clay while there was only one player Roger has trouble with.

I have no complaints whatsoever with TCs #1. And Graf the #1 woman. No problem at all.
