The Nike brigade for the title. At a combined 210 dB's (I know dB's are not just added, but you get the point) this will be heard around the world (or at least all the way to the Sidney harbor). Throat-to-throat is 3-3.
A final that should be covered by Sports Illustrated, Vogue, Maxim's and Vladimir Nabokov. |

There's not a lot in it on the tale of the tape (recorder)
Maria (right) has the height advantage, but Victoria (left) has the longer reach. Seriously though, it's very difficult to call. Very impressed by the determination and defensive abilities of both players during their semi finals (Vika is reminding me a little of Novak, with her consistently improving movement and excellent backhand). Whoever wins, it'll be a good story, and it seems like a fitting end to the number #1 'debate'...for now, at least |

I actually like both players and will be happy with either or but Maria has been my girl since her Wimby win Anyway, I'll be watching muted simply in order to avoid the incessant references to the shrieking by commentators. And I have no idea who's winning, but I'll be happy either way. |

This is tough. I think this is the easier match-up for Vika (as opposed to Kvitova), but I do worry about Vika's nerves. Look at her serving at the end of the last game of her semi. If Kim could have gotten out of that game, who knows what might have happened. |
