weather permitting, what a potentially awesome day of tennis... all-play wednesday(!)... some lucky fans, if the rain holds off

Has Isner been on Ashe all tournament? Not a lot of love.

He wants to be on Armstrong. From his Facebook page yesterday:

I feel comfortable on Armstrong and honestly, I hope they put my next match on there. Playing Simon will be tough but I’m going to try to keep the points short and if I can serve with a purpose, I should do fairly well. Hope to hear you guys out there tomorrow! It annoys me that they moved him to Grandstand though.

I wonder if Donald Young will be more comfortable on the Grandstand instead of Ashe?

Considering Donald's past comments (from a few years ago) on whether his matches should be on TV courts, absolutely Donald believes he deserves to be on Ashe.

I hope Donald will come on to Grandstand with the mindset that he needs to win one more match to earn his way onto Ashe again. A bit of wishful thinking.

Meanwhile, Andy is scheduled to play his first match not on Ashe since 2002 or 2003 (I can't remember which year he tweeted earliter)

SBTBaseline Correction, @andyroddick played his first @usopen match on Grandstand vs Albert Costa in 2000. In 02, he played Chela on Arm

Actually, the forecast has changed significantly for the better since last night.

But it's still spitting rain right now.

I'm not sure if Miles is referring to this or something else, but a few years ago at a smaller tournament, Young asked me if his next match was going to be on TV (I think he would have played the top seed). He then lost the earlier-round match he had that day. This was at a different place and time, though

US Open site says they're drying the courts and hoping to start play. Anyone know if this is for reals or wishful thinking?

It looks like the players are coming onto Ashe, so hopefully for real.

Woot!
Just started pouring again in central NJ. If this patch of rain moves over Flushing, we are screwed again.
