Looks like they should be able to play tennis today until about 2-3 p.m. And after that, no more tennis until perhaps late Thursday or Friday.

It's gonna be a rough ride.

Ouch. That's a nasty forecast. Where is that coming from? Is there a hurricane or tropical storm coming up the coast?

Leftovers from Lee, Martini. It current stretches from the Gulf all the way up to here in PA. IF IF IF it goes a little more north than expected rather than N/NE, we might be okay. But it doesn't look good. weather.com is saying 70-90% change of rain/thunderstorms at Flushing Meadows/Carona Park for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And more rain over the weekend.

With that weather news, I'm especially grateful for today's coverage. For the first time in the 10 years that I've lived here, the local CBS station is showing the Open instead of the Jerry Lewis Telethon.

Monday final for the 4th year in a row?

That would figure - I'm off the weekend and will probably be working during the final on Monday - just like the last three years

CBS just did an injury/illness recap while JCF got his toe taped. Bill Macatee quipped "our colleague Justin Gimelstob cramped in the morning meeting, going for a bagel."

Really solid tiebreak from Ferrero. Tipsarevic looked completely out of sorts. He hit one of the worst drop shot attempts I've ever seen. It ended up halfway to the baseline and halfway into the doubles alley.

Good news! weather.com has changed the forecast for today. 10-20% chance of rain between now and 8 p.m.! Just a few hours ago, it was showing that the rain would start between 2-3 p.m.

And now they're calling for a 90% chance of rain on Tuesday, 70% on Wednesday and down to 40% on Thursday. Clear on Friday with a 10% chance of rain.

Strange choice of promo for the Serena match. Goofy dancing does not get me excited for a match.

Ahaha! Do all his colleagues think he's a tool too?

Yay! Pavlyuchenkova makes another GS QF! Just 20 years old too, I'm starting to think she could be a solid top-5 pretty soon.

I didn't think Pavs could pull it off after that close loss to Fran at the French this year. A very nervy, error-filled match.

This Tipsy-JCF match could go 5 hours at this rate.

I hope so! I won't be home from work for another hour or so and want to catch some of it. Watching Livescore just doesn't have the same thrill. grin

Janko has yet to be broken in the match. It's going to be hard for this to get away from him if he continues to keep that stat in tact. Hell, Ferrero has only had 2 break points in the match!
