2011 US Open Weather Update

The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center came through Hurricane Irene with minimal damage. We are currently working to get the venue ready for an 11 a.m. ET start on Monday. We are in communication with city officials regarding mass transit, road conditions, and the ability to start the event on Monday. We will provide an update later today regarding play on Monday.

Strange that Federer gets the Monday night starts !!!!!!!
Stranger still is that you are picking Giraldo to upset him in the SP. Any inside info?

I like that Petra Kvitova opens up Ashe for the US Open, whereas in Cincinnati she was never even put on one of the two biggest courts.
Now she is off but it is a good decision.

Just noticed that.

They will delay starting time on Ashe to 1:00 p.m. with only two day matches. Meanwhile, play starts on Armstrong at 11:00, with 5 matches scheduled.

What is the point of that? If they're beginning play on Armstrong and most of the outside courts, then what is the issue? Why screw the suckers patrons who shelled out the big bucks for the big stadium?

Watching Harrison-Cilic; I saw this in Cincy; Ryan has a real hot temper.
Plus he blew 2 challenges in the second game of the set

So, they're having some problems with the mix channels on DIRECTV. It's very strange to be watching Harrison/Cilic but getting the commentary for Nishikori/Cipolla.
