(WC) Eugénie Bouchard (CAN) d. Alison Riske (USA) 63 62
Bouchard is a 17-year old. She started the year ranked 549 in the WTA rankings. She's won two ITF tournaments this year (in Burnie, Australia and Sibenek, Croatia). Ranked sixth in the ITF junior rankings, she's reached the semis of the Australian Open juniors (losing to Monica Puig) and the quarters of Wimbledon juniors(losing to Irina Kromacheva), and won the Copa Gerdau in Brazil in April. She's also won three junior doubles titles this year.

I just tuned in to Petrova-Bouchard. Petrova is up a set and two breaks and hasn't faced a break point yet.

Petrova playing well is a bit of a surprise, but I suppose this scoreline makes sense. Bouchard is used to juniors and ITF, and Petrova is one of the hardest hitting players in the world. Bouchard looks a bit stunned at these shots.

The BIG shock is that Petrova is wearing a flattering outfit. It's simple and slimming, the complete opposite of her usual ruffled disasters.
