Serena and Venus on opposite halves.

Serena in the same quarter as Li Na.

Venus is facing defending USO champ Miles in the first round. Looks like she has a trickier draw than Serena.

Serena v. Rezai is pretty interesting.

Schiavone v. Dokic could also be fun.

Looking forward to finally seeing Akgul on TV.

I think it's mostly balanced. (or were you joking? I can never tell)

Qualifying the statement: Trickier for Venus comparatively... as the player she is at her stage of career. It is balanced, yes, but I think Venus will have a tougher time.

When I saw who Venus drew, I thought this was even more interesting. Akgul is as tall or even taller than Venus, and seems to do a lot of serving and volleying. She almost reminded me of Eleni Danilodou(sp)

I just hate that she wears her darn hat backwards. When I first saw her with the hat I could't tell if I was looking at a WTA or ATP player

She also wears men's shorts and shirts

I also think she's taller than Vee, but I'm not 100% sure.

I remember seeing her play Bartoli at IW. oohsalmon was cheering loudly for her.

Yep, that doesn't help matters!

In build, she almost looks like Juan Ignacio Chela!

So for the top seeds:

The Woz got Arantxa "I'm gonna hit every ball as hard as I can you better hope it doesn't go in...don't worry, it probably won't. But if it does you're screwed." Parra Santonja

Bepa got Birmingham GOAT Ali Riske

Li will be getting judged on her fashion sense

and Vika will play grass-titlist Rybarikova

Potentially tricky for all but I can't see anyone crashing and burning quite yet, though in the long run I think Caro definitely has the trickiest draw despite no Williams sisters in sight til the semis.

Actually, I think the opposite. How Akgul stays ranked high enough to make draws is a mystery to me, as she has the worst court sense and shot selection on the WTA, IMO.

I think our French Open finalists will both be out early once again: Li in the 2nd round to Lisicki and Schiavone in the 3rd to Makarova.

Chela is pretty scrawny, in general, and also compared to Akgul.

What about Dokic over Schiavone in 1st round? Dokic is a very good grass courter.

It could happen, but Dokic hasn't really done much of anything this year, save the win in Kuala Lumpur.

She plays the final tomorrow at s'hertogenbosch against Vinci.

Don't be surprised if Dokic win over Schiavone in first round
