That's a ridiculously strong draw for what is basically a glorified Tier 3/4 event.
Do you mean a Tier II event now? Regardless, I agree on the draw where the defending finalist has to play qualies.

It was Tier II in the past, albeit the draw wasn't this good every year.

My bad...I was thinking of the old Forest Hills event, which was a 4. But I was just overly impressed by the amount of talent they got into this draw one week before a Slam. Guess a lot of top players think they need more matches.

Querrey out? Gasquet out? (Wouldn't have traded him in for THRTNY if I thought he was out this week.)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fish disappear from that draw, either.

He'd be a fool not to drop out- especially since he's also played plenty of doubles. (Lousy bum is on my team, too.)

Interesting to see a couple of guys who may very well be seeded at the US Open, playing qualifying at New Haven...did they just want some match play or did they forget a deadline somewhere?

Bum is on everyone's team so wouldn't matter. What matters is when he takes out the other people on your team like he did to me this week!
