Ugh...is Gonzalez our late high-ranked WC addition we're all going to use our last trade on in THRTNY?

Safina, Dent, Young get WCs. I think Ivanovic is holding a presser right this moment, I don't know whether that means she's playing or withdrawing

Good move from Dina, if she's healthy again, she needs as many matches right now as she can get.

That's interesting. I had almost a polar opposite reaction--that perhaps she's playing too much and risking re-injury.

I thought about that, but with Dina I have no idea, she's always struck me as someone who needs the matches. If she is healthy, playing a bit more won't hurt too much. But she does need to schedule better post-Open so she can get some points back.

I wish we knew more about the nature of her back injury and I hope that her new coach is giving her more structure to her practices and schedules.

She insisted Monday that she was completely healed for sure. And anyway, she's done in MTL

In any case, she certainly knows how to manage her schedule better than I.

I felt awful taking Fran in predictions over her. But I just knew Fran would show up for that match. She usually does in these types of situations. It's almost getting annoying.

That tournament director in Canada has some serious voodoo arsenal at his disposal. Remember Ana, sports doesn't build character, it shows it.

I saw the Montreal TD talking on the news about how Sasha Vujajic texted him (he wanted to surprise Maria with flowers in her hotel room) and other info that should have been private. Real piece of work the Montreal TD (not to be confused with the much better-looking Toronto TD)

That's a ridiculously strong draw for what is basically a glorified Tier 3/4 event.

Do you mean a Tier II event now? Regardless, I agree on the draw where the defending finalist has to play qualies.
