merged my post into this thread. Guess this is bigger than Tennis Random, Random.

Wonder if he'll keep the rest of the team.

I don't think his problem is his coach.

Interestingly, Spanish-language media reports Andy will work w/ Corretja full time on a temporary basis

That Guardian article called Gabashvili "Tempuras"

Well, Murray arrived in LA via Miami around 3pm today and hit the practice courts by 5pm. Only the bald guy was with him. Corretja was not around today but I do recall seeing him on the airport list. Maybe I'll be able to clarify tomorrow.

I think that Nicole Vaidisova should coach Murray.

Corretja was there but went home according to UK papers.

Ah-ha! Upthread, I wondered about hearing this during Wimbledon but couldn't remember for sure. No one responded, so I figured I was mistaken.

Why would he wait until after the US Open? I don't understand his means?

Maybe Cahill has contractual obligations until then?

Just grasping at straws. I don't understand the delay, either.

Personally, I don't think Cahill is a good fit. He needs someone who will smack him upside the back of the head every time he hits a drop shot. Someone like a John Cena.

Tennis-Coach change part of Murray's bid to reach the top

Andy Murray's burning desire to become the game's top player and to win his first grand slam singles title prompted him to sack his coach Miles Maclagan, the British world number four said Wednesday.

Murray, who is competing in this week's LA Open, felt he and Maclagan had drifted apart in the way they viewed his development and that it was imperative for him to be comfortable with his coaching structure

Per Doug Robson, Murray's said:

"It wasn't that tough to make up my mind because we were that far apart."

Well, considering that Murray did better under Maclagan than Brad Gilbert, I think he might as least get along with Cahill. As to whether Cahill will help his game, I don't know. I guess the perception was that Murray liked the more hands-off approach that Maclagan seemed to bring as opposed to BG being up in his grill all the time, but now it's hard to say that for sure. I don't know if he can stand the kind of coach that would yell at him a lot.
