At least they say they talked to Stefano and she'll be ok.

There are players that you think have/will have a fairly easy transition to a life after tennis. Like Steffi Graf. Or Lindsay Davenport. Or the Williams sisters.

Jen Jen, on the other hand, is one of those people I always feared would have a hard time once the career ended.

I hope she is okay, and that some good comes from this for her future.

I remember a couple of years ago there was an article and interview with Jen where she said she was struggling with depression, but my god.

This is beyond sad, it's heartbreaking really.

This makes me think back to that article from a couple of years ago when she talked about how despressed she became after she was unable to play.

Especially since she didn't end it on her terms, I think that's probably the hardest thing for her.

The more her life story unfolds, the more convinced I am that she never really had a fair chance.

If she could only find another purpose in life that gives her as much satisfaction as tennis it would be great.

(The "official" version of the story)

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati hospitalized in South Florida for accidental overdose, rep says
By Alexia Campbell, Sun Sentinel

12:46 p.m. EDT, June 28, 2010

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati is recuperating at an unnamed South Florida hospital after an accidental overdose of medication prescribed by her personal doctor, a family representative said Monday.

"Jen is recovering fully and speedily," said Lacey Wickline.

Wickline would not provide further information, and asked the public to respect the Capriati family's privacy.
