A thought just struck me: good thing they gave all the "contenders" their warm-up on Centre Court before the semis!

How does one say "C'mon" in Bulgarian? My guess is there is at least one or two hardy vowels in the mix.

"Sometimes people bring their best behavior...to this Championships....we'll find out" - Pam Shriver just now commenting on Vera. Great sentence, Pam. She really brings it to the table.

Is it too soon to predict the finalists of the US Open?

I'm thinking Julie Coin and Zuzana.

You're right.

It'll be an all sisters final.

...

Alona and Kateryna.

Ondraskova, Zlochova, or Luknarova? I'm ruling out Kucova, since she is inside the Top 150.

Minus the crepes, of course.

C'mon Tsvetana. One more set. This is so bizarre, and yet so cool.

Oh, I remember that final. Leading up, we were all introduced to and presented Marion by the media as some sort of laughingstock. Got all sorts of descriptions of her bizarre training and what seemingly humiliating things her father would have her do in front of others.

Every now and then, I have to remind myself that I'm not watching the first round at Bad Gastein.

Go Bepa!

Ummmmm. K. The point remains that in Pironkova you have someone who isn't in the top 80 and has never made it beyond the second round of a slam, whereas Bartoli had reached at least the 4th round of a slam prior and was seeded in that tournament.
