Apparently there was talk that if the Queen was present he wouldn't bow to her. He tweeted that the talk was just that, that he would bow to her. I think I posted the tweet in the Tennis Random, Random thread. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ten...for-Queen.html |

I cannot believe that they put Murray on Court 1. When's the last time that happened here? For the first time since the summer of 2005, when Murray was an 18 year-old new to the Wimbledon scene, the Scot will be playing somewhere other than the most celebrated rectangle of grass in the sport. Perhaps the idea is to keep Murray back for Thursday, to make it more of an occasion on the day that the Queen is scheduled to make her first visit to the tournament since she presented Virginia Wade with the ladies’ trophy during her Silver Jubilee Year in 1977. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ten...Jan-Hajek.html |

The players are warming up! I'm watching it at the airport in Las Vegas. I'm very thankful that they have free wireless!
My new blond highlights have turned me into a stereotype. I realized once I got here that my flight leaves 4 hours later than I was thinking. It's worth it though! Last night I got TWO (count 'em) implied compliments from strangers in a casino. Anyhoo, I'm watching Akgul v Sveta. They juuuuuust started. The british male commentator DESTROYED Akgul's last name. I almost spluttered. |
