Hmmm...the players perhaps?

What's not funny is one will be in the round of 16!

Maybe you're recalling the prior Safina/Peer fiasco match at Wimbledon.

One of them WILL succeed despite any attempts on their part to fail.

I cringed when I saw where she landed. Reminded me of this year's Aussie.

Rough first round, but after that Oudin has to like her draw.

R16. Kim vs. Justine. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!

The read bad news- both of them and Jankovic= Venus' half (at least she'd only have to play one of them in the SF.) WITH V getting freakin' Makarova or Szavay in the second round. IMO Serena's relatively speaking got the cushier half. (Unless Maria can play like a Blast from the Past.....)

I think Venus has a really good draw. No way she is losing to Makarova or Szavay at Wimbledon- or to anyone else up to the semis. Kim's actually the only one I could see beating Venus before the final.
:
IMO the top quarter is the toughest, but overall a nice draw.

I'd say 3rd Q is the toughest (with 1st not far behind), but I agree on the nice draw sentiment. Such a relief after the French.

I think Oudin's loss of ranking points shifts into high gear next week. She's defending 4th round from last year, and I think she's be lucky to survive the 1st round given how Flipper is playing, or go out in the 2nd to Yani.

The closest we'll get to Kim/Justine will be Henman Hill. (Still, it IS way cool that we'll be there that day. It's funny how it took your post for me to start reminding myself, HEY, I'm gonna be at WIMBLEDON!!!!!!!! while a lot of these matches are going on. )
