Ummm...Nadal being placed on Lenglen for opening match? I know he's not defending champion this year but still

Ok, I'm done with the French. Placing a four time champion on a show court for his opening round match is beyond insulting. You suck, French organizers.

Yeah, I don't get it. Verdasco, Safina, Sharapova, and Hewitt-Chardy would have drawn more than enough people for Lenglen.

Maybe they are trying to protect Mina from embarrassment on Chatrier.

Or perhaps they just don't like Nadal in particular or Spanish in general?

Is it possible Nadal wanted Lenglen for some reason? Just speculating.

LOL. I've given up on trying to understand court placement at the French.

I know this happens a lot with lucky losers, but I'm particularly struck by the fortune of Sister B now drawing Vania King, while Halep (who beat Bethanie in qualies) got Stosur first round. Ouch.

I thought I'd sleep a little later tomorrow, then I noticed Alize was up first on court one. So I guess I'll watch that because, I don't know, I hate myself?

Oh come on, peeps! This was their only chance to get Roddick on Chatrier! His flight back to the states is scheduled to depart Tuesday night!

If Jarkko is smart, he'll taunt Andy much like how he taunted PEHK a few years back (though I don't remember if that worked well for him or not; I think it did. Too lazy to check).

I have Andy going a few rounds, too. But I don't remember how far.

::

Okay. I think it's pretty safe to say that I don't remember ANYTHING.

2008 Aussie. Niemenen d. Kohlschreiber, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-3. Followed Kohli's epic win over Roddick.

Thanks for that pleasant reminder. I owe you one.

Oops. Sorry. But I could have sworn it was at the French.

Since I feel so badly, you'll always have Jelena/Venus from a few weeks ago.

Lenglen is a great court. It's almost as big as Chatrier and much nicer. I always take my tickets on Lenglen, Stop thinking its a lesser court; Go to the picture on that thread and look at it, it's very big too. Most players love playing on Lenglen because you have less private booths so the real public is closer.

It is not bad to play on Lenglen and they usually try to alternate for big players, such as Federer and Rafa so once they play on Chatrier, once they play on Lenglen.

What I want to know is why is it that Rafa always plays on the Second or Third day of the first round, and Roger always plays on the First, so that effectively Roger plays seven matches on 14 days while Rafa plays 7 in 13?
(I know Roger played on the second day, but still, that is one day more for him to go through the draw).
