I don't know if it is that we are so used to him being # 2, but shouldn't Rafa be at number 3? That's his ranking right now, which will probably drop below 4 after he can't defend his points for being defending champion (which he couldn't care less since now he even has a Video with Shakira. Top THAT!, Roger!)

These lists were compiled a long time ago. As of now his ranking is #3 as you state and the seedings will probably reflect that. I'm not sure how much flexibility the Masters series are allowed in seeding.

Don't forget if Peter Bodo reliable sources are accurate, Nadal will be seeded 2.

Bodo is being raked over the coals on Tennis-X because of that statement. And here I thought I disliked him. What some people are calling him over there makes me look like a long term fan.

Has he predicted a seeding for Somdev Dewarmann? Oh wait! That's right! Dewarmann is the victim of categorical discrimination by the ATP because the ATP refuses to give him a ranking!

Poor Pete. I´m guessing IW or IMG may have been covering their asses and told him of the possibility of withdrawal before Federer decided.

According to her post on Facebook, Rika Fujiwara is "at home."

Unfortunately, she still has plenty of time to get to Indian Wells if she's eligible for qualifying. But she hasn't said anything yet about potential plans to travel.

Long story. It has to do with one wild night they shared together, and some rashes that lasted longer than that one magical evening.

She's playing a challenger in Australia this week. You better cheer for her to do well there.

Must have read TAT's IW Suicide Pool announcement and remembered about Dry. I'm sure she's on her way to sunny California now!

Does any tournament (other than Wimbledon, which uses an actual formula) have any flexibility in seeding? I thought they always went by the most recent rankings.

No, I don't think so.
