Default I know why some Russian changed to Kazakhstan
It is because Shamil Tarpischev didn't select them to play Davis Cup or FED Cup!

As a result they think no longer to come under the authority of this country!!

What do you think?

I actually wrote about this a while back.

Not just Russians have, btw. Karatantcheva left her Bulgaria for Kazakhstan too, though she has said it's a temporary move.

And the real reason is that Kazakhstan gives them money.

Tarpishev didn't put ME on the Fed or Davis Cup teams, so I think I'm going to go play for Kazakhstan, too.

It's a three-year contract for all of them. With possibility to renew, presumably.

There's a recent interview of Korolev somewhere on the ATP site, where he talks about how "proud" he is representing his adopted country and explains his reasons somewhat for joining Kazakhstan.

He could, but after he picks a player and they lose, they would be suspended from being picked for a year. So he would run out of players in about two weeks
