People like hurricanejeanne use it all the time. Trust me, if the Travel Channel isn't on the TV then the Weather Channel is for her.
The Weather Channel and I are likethis.

When I lived at home we had to pay an extra $10 a month for TC which is stupid considering the Golf Channel came with all the other sports channels without extra cost.

And I'm with the point that the Fox Sports Channels are pointless.

I've only recently broken my addiction to the Weather Channel.

Comcast sounds like Cablevision.

It's funny what we find ourselves hooked on when it comes to TV. For me it's the Game Show Network.

I love my sports package. Sure it costs some extra money. But I use a number of different channels to watch a number of sports not on my regular package like beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, a number of college sports, and is extra awesome during the olympics.

What the cable networks don't seem to realize is that they are paving the way for a la carte pricing, which they are steadfast against. As cable prices go up, the government will have to intervene. Remember the days when the cable company charged $5 for the remote rental every month? With a-la-carte pricing, consumers would choose and pay for only the channels they want. This would be beneficial to the consumers and very detrimental to all the networks since they would only get paid per subscriber. I for one cannot wait for a-la-carte pricing.

I paid over $100 for a package just to get TC here at my apartment. Our complex has its own contract with Dish Network so we HAVE to get it from them. Not only does it suck for us because of the price, but also we have to pay the complex $15 per dvr box, $50 for them to come set it up (ridiculous considering you plug it in and call the number to connect it), and then the outrageous package just for one channel. I dropped it all two summers ago because I, as a college student, couldn't afford it. I know this will be Jeanne's first tennis season in a long time without TC but I've been able to manage with ESPN 360 and livestreams. I will be so thankful when we are allowed to pick our own plans.

My brother in law watches The Weather Channel religiously. Guaranteed, he would take that as part of his programming.

Meanwhile, I could care less about probably 50% of the channels I receive. I have never watched QVC or The Home Shopping Network, but I get both. Same thing with Style, Speed, Golf Channel truTV. And there are a bunch of channels I watch maybe once a year (ScyFy, for example) that I could do without.
I would die without SyFy! Where else could I watch Ice Spiders and Ice Twisters back-to-back?
