Default Roger Federer is about to become a Dad
OFF COURT - GREAT NEWS!

Dear Fans

I arrived in Indian Wells earlier this week and I am eager to get back out on court. My back is feeling much better and I am ready to go.

I also have some really awesome news to share with all of you: Mirka and I are excited to let you know that we will be parents this summer! Mirka is pregnant and we are so happy to be starting a family together. This is a dream come true for us. We love children and we are looking forward to being parents for the first time. Mirka is feeling great and everything is going well.

Speak soon and thanks for all your continued support!

Roger

That kid will live in abject poverty. Poor thing.

Depends what he means by "this summer". Will the baby come after he is humiliated by Rafa at RG? Or, after he fails to humiliate Rafa at Wimbledon? Or, before he fails to win number six in a row at Flushing?

Congratulations!
No wonder he's stressing! My hubby stressed more than I did when I was pregnant.

If it's a boy, I have tons of stuff I could send them.

Wow! I'm happy for him and everything, but hope it doesn't affect his tennis... I know it's selfish, but hey...

There were rumors for more than a couple of years, obviously most of them false. But I thought Roger had said in an interview that there would be plenty of time for family and children after his career was over. I am afraid how this will affect his tennis.

Anyways, personally for Roger and Mirka, nothing but congratulations

Feder Rat
The Future Mr. Lynch
Nadya Suleman Kidnapping Target (for ransom purposes, of course)
Wonder Pest

Off the top of my head.

But I know Federer fans. They won't settle for anything less than...

The Messiah.

I would've thought that they'd get married first. Oh well, no matter.

Nah. They got it right. Live in sin. Fewer attorneys involved.

In a seminar today, we talked about how more than half of births in many Western European countries are out-of-wedlock and how the number of marriages has gone way down. Amazingly, Switzerland had one of the lowest % for out-of-wedlock births, and I swear I thought about Roger and Mirka not getting married.

Of course, the point here was about the welfare state and the economic incentives people have to marry/have a baby, etc. Don't think this kid's going to have these issues.
