Tebow makes me and horses??

I agree with the folks saying Andy is lucky to be nominated.
It is more like strange for me or we have very low standard .

I'm way confused. What makes and athlete a "Sportsman"? Is it the same as sportsmanship? Or are there other criteria?

If it's up to the public, I'm voting for the horsies.

Since its inception in 1954, Sports Illustrated magazine has annually presented the "Sportsman of the Year" award to "the athlete or team whose performance that year most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement." Both Americans and non-Americans are eligible, though in the past the vast majority of winners have been from the United States. Both men and women have won the award, it being renamed as "Sportswoman" or "Sportswomen," such as 1999 when the U.S. Women's Soccer Team was named Sportswomen of the Year.

I'm still bitter that Dwyane Wade won in 2006, the year Federer absolutely dominated tennis.

I think the other criteria for Sportsman of the year is "which winner will sell the most magazines"

...and achievement.

I don't know. I think Roddick would deserve it.

In my not so subtle opinion, one of the people leading this pack should be Manny Pacquiao. During the past twelve months he's made Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Angel Cotto eat every negative word they ever said about him to become a five weight, five time world champion. As a boxer, you have to look very far and wide to find anyone better. 2010 should bring us the fight with Mayweather and prove once and for all who is the greatest of this generation. I know who my money is on...
