The Ticker : Mario Ancic tells Croatian press that he soon expects to get medical clearance to begin training again. Ancic hopes to return to the tour next January, but has not yet decided whether he will play the Australian Open or make his comeback at a smaller event.

"I will not rush," he said, having started his season in Australia this year only to experience yet another bout of mononucleosis in May

Why, are you the one he's making out with?

My mere presence in his vicinity seems to bring him bad luck.

That he is hired in the law office, for Javno confirmed to in a telephone interview, and his 'head' attorney Marija Turudić.

Working as an intern

- All I can tell you is that Mario started working with me in July and he is an intern - said Turudić, also known as sister of the famous Zagreb Judge Ivana Turudića.

Recall, Mario graduated from the Law Faculty, after five years of study.

Also, the question of whether Mario work full time, five days a week, a diplomatic Turudić said that for as long as the prescribed working hours for an intern. The article offers no specifics. He could be working as an intern while he recovers.

I think I posted before that a friend overheard him tell Davydenko last fall that, if this past go-around didn't work out, it would likely be his last.

So, I've just been waiting for an annoucement.

I'm glad he's able to work, at least, this spring he apparently couldn't get out of bed. And this year or next is probably his last chance to get out and succeed in something else.

I want what is going to make Mario happy. I'd hate to see him leave the sport.

I really enjoy Mario's tennis and I'll miss him if he doesn't return. But I wish him the best whether he's on the court or in the courtroom.

hee ... I wonder if he'll ever say "challenge!" instead of "objection!" (or whatever objection is in Croatian).

It would be a shame for the sport for sure, but the guy must be tired of waiting and waiting to be fully fit to return to the sport.
