Is it usually the case that the top half semi is first and then the other semi? Or is there no such fixed rule? Or is it different for the men and the women?
I really don't think there is a specific rule, Rabbit - you'll note tht when they were playing Friday, Kim/Serena were up first, but now that it's been moved to Saturday, they are the late match.

Combine what I saw in person, with what I saw on TV, add in the return of my all time favorite female player, and have her reach the semis, add some Cinderella stories, some big upsets, ESPN performing above my (admitedly low) expectations, and I have to say this has been the most enjoyable USO for me since 2005.

This is the first US Open in recent memory that I haven't recorded a single match.
Why? Disinterested?

Murray is a great player,it is just his slam result that are very disappointing .
Johnny Mac brought up a good point saying that Murray had over trained leading up to and during the Open.

There is no set rule, usually the more competitive semi or the one featuring the bigger name is played second since the start time for the first semi is 11AM and Ashe tends to be empty and the ratings also pick up later in the day.

I believe the only reason the Serena/Kim semi was scheduled first is because of the weather. If only one match was to be played/completed during the broadcast window, CBS wanted it to be that one. Also, I'm sure the language in CBS' contract requires them to carry at least on semi live and that is why Rafa/Gonzo were originally scheduled to go up second on Ashe.

The exact same here, though I'm planning to record Serena-Kim...if it ever happens.

Serena twittering constantly through the morning: http://twitter.com/serenajwilliams . I sometimes feel kind of bad for her, because she's completely exposed to snarky commenters who try to pretend they are witty at her expense. And she gets abused if she doesn't reply to all of the million people messaging her.

That was fast.

Terrible place to start a match when you are the one behind.
