Wow..before the draw a couple weeks back, I was praying that Saturday night's CBS match would be Kim vs. Serena. I got my wish

Man, this has been a really frustrating and disappointing US Open for me, so far. The rain delay is just the icing on the cake.

Are you KIDDING me? I have enjoyed this US Open so much....I admit to being a bit disappointed at the top half of the women's draw but other than that....I confess that I've watched every bit that Tennis Channel ESPN2 and CBS has to offer.

I loved it Shocked over the Murray loss....thilled over the Oudin display, thrilled over Kimmy's return, thrilled over Serena's performance, thrilled over the WS doubles display and LOVED their match with Kleybanova, THRILLED over Taylor Dent's return, not shocked at ALL over Dinara's defeat and am disgusted with her coach's display, DEPRESSED as all hell over the Safin loss / retirement.....LOVED Roddick's match with Isner.....loved it but..sad and heartbreaking for Andy BUT loved his interview..it shows the maturity and growth of Andy when I think about how cocky he was a few years back....LOVE the return of the raging bull and boy is he raging! I love it ALL!! As Venus said...."This is the US Open Baby!"

I have to agree; I've really enjoyed it. Unexpected stories and upsets...the return of favorites...not to mention some of the upsets and stories have been about Americans at a time when folks are bemoaning the state of American tennis.

I just don't think the tennis has been all that great. I'll concede Oudin because her matches have been some of the most exciting I've seen all year. But I'm fed up that I haven't seen all that many matches with both players playing very well at the same time. The Dinara match(es) was sad for a number of reasons. The Roddick-Isner match had a really disappointing result and Isner couldn't even follow it up. The Venus-Kim match I'd been waiting for was utterly bizarre, Andy Murray, just when I was starting to like him, get's his butt kicked. Marat could barely be bothered to show up. Rafa and Serena, my 2 faves are still in but I'm just not excited for some reason and this rain has ruined the day. There had better be some darn good finals.

Sorry, I just realized I put a negative spin on all the positive stuff you guys mentioned.

LOL. That's okay, munchin. I think it's especially frustrating when players you like are involved like with Roddick's loss. But, you can't be that surprised about Marat. And I think Isner got too overwhelmed and too worn out to do well to follow up his result. It's what he'll do from here on out after that win that will really be telling, just like with Oudin. I also find Murray's loss more fascinating than anything because of his continually poor results at the majors (save for his run to the semis at Wimby). What's that about and will it keep happening? I feel like it's kind of a cliffhanger and makes looking ahead to next year that much more interesting to see what happens next with these players. (See how determined I can be to find a silver lining? )

Don't give up on Andy! Did you see his presser? The dude was literally physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. He played.....like he was feeling and that was ...just horrible. Hopefully, Murray can take something from this and learn and his loss makes me anticipate next season to see what he has done, how he has grown in the off season I just can't wait!!

And the Venus - Kim match....come on.....something had to give in that match! Kimmy..who is known for choking in the slams and Venus who has won this since when? 2002? And who is nursing a bad knee.....I predicted for Kim but that third set...really was anyone's for the taking but....given that I enjoy Kim so much and am loving her return...I was just LMAO at that bagle thing!

There was just SO MUCH awesomeness mixed in this Open that....I kinda enjoyed the "down" moments too. I'll admit to being depressed for a day over Safin and didn't touch the computer because I didn't want to hear about it but.....it's all like....just a part of a game I love. Good moments.....bad moments....basically it's all good cuz I love Tennis

Even the rain......sure we all get cranky with no live tennis today but....all that does is make us thirst for the Gonzalez - Nadal match that has yet to be decided!

Is it usually the case that the top half semi is first and then the other semi? Or is there no such fixed rule? Or is it different for the men and the women?

Count me in as totally enjoying this US Open! I've loved being able to find coverage most any time, on one channel or t'other -- and not being afraid to miss a key match, knowing that it will be replayed and I won't miss the re-run. I've loved hearing Lindsay's commentating, and Jimmy Connors -- wow. And the Brothers McEnroe -- together -- wow.

I watched somebody play this week who, I swear, reminded me of little Tommy Smothers (from the old Smothers Brothers Comedy Show) -- maybe it was Ollie Rochus ??

It's just been a really FUN time - like most everybody, I fell in love with the little Georgia Peach Melanie Oudin - . We even got to see a little bit of the Juniors playing, wow! The one thing I've hoped for more of, was coverage of the Champions play in World Team Tennis format. Oh well, can't have everything. It's still been great!

Your positivity about this mess tournament is pretty contagious. I'll try to regard the next 3 days with optimism (but when Wickmayer beats Kim 6-0, 6-0 and Rafa collapses from exhaustion in the final, don't say I didn't warn y'all).

In my opinion, the player who can gain the most potentially is Del Potro. Both Roger and Novak will be playing after the same amount of rest period. Whereas Del Potro will have an advantage over Gonzo and Rafa. The time difference between the semis and the final will hopefully be roughly the same for both halves.

This is the first US Open in recent memory that I haven't recorded a single match.

Clijsters-Williams was supposed to be the first match today.
