Default Caroline/Kim WHO YA GOT?
Womens' US Open Final. Who on earth predicted this one!

Caro's first Slam final. Everyone has been waiting for one of these younger players to step to the forefront, and Wozniacki has become the first at a Slam. Most match wins of any woman player this year.

Kimmie. 13 match win streak at the US Open, just 3 years in between wins 7 and 8. Loves the surface, and is playing with what seems to be better focus than at any time in her career. Looking to ditch the "one Slam wonder" albatross". But as we saw in the Na Li match, things get slightly more dicey when she's been considered a favorite in a match this tournament.

No H2H record.

The sad part is that this is likely going to be a continuance of 2 set finals.

The good part....

I think you get this one Moose. Don't be greedy with Nole...

hehehe.

As I have said a few times these past two weeks, having Kim back, and playing at this level has been such a joyous experience, Suliso. If that's what my memory of the '09 USO comes down to, I am more than happy to accept that as enough and look forward to 2010.

Given the way she played yesterday, and the difference in experience, this should be an easy two setter for Kim. Still, I'm happy that one of the younger players took a step forward (although it's not as if she took out a bunch of top seeds on route).

Don't I deserve at least one?

By the way, I'll take Caro in straights. She's match tough.

You're having flashbacks to Majoli/Schnyder at Charleston again, aren't you?

More Sanchez Vicario over Seles in the '98 French. Seles' father passes and she has a surprise dream run to the final, including the tough win. She is supposed to win that match. Didn't happen.

Majoli would be a good analogy if Caro indeed wins this one is straight. And I mean Iva at that point in spring of 1997, not Iva who never won anything of note again.

Remember ASV's speech? One of the most touching victory speeches I ever heard.

My poll is broken. It keeps showing me the name Caroline among the options.

I can't believe this is actually happening, it feels like a dream to have Kimmie back in a GS final. Well done to Caroline for getting this far but Kimmie has to win this. It's on at 2am our time and I"m not planning on staying up for it 'cos have to work tomorrow so am taping it.

I am so nervous.

Suliso and I made a deal. Caro got to show up in the "How many sets does it take Kim to win" poll, and in return, Nole got to show up in the "how many sets does it take Roger to win" poll.

I took Kim in 3. I think the nerves of the moment might mess her up a little, but she'll regroup and pull it out.
