I took Caroline in straights. She's a little different than the others Melanie has played and I think her tight battle with Kuznetsova will allow her to relax a bit tonight. She doesn't have the emotional baggage of the Russians either. She's already played at night too.

On paper, Caroline should win this.

What's interesting, like Shtexas said, Caroline is different than the Russians Melanie has played thus far. Caroline basically plays the same way Melanie plays, just better. Also, Caroline, though she hasn't come good in the slams, she's won big matches, titles on the tour level before, so she has that big match experience on her side. Melanie has relied on intangiables this entire tournament, the crowd is on her side and they will be tonight, but alas miracle runs to eventually hit a brick wall. But if Caroline is going to win this one, she's got to do it in straight sets.

IMO......I think Oudin wins tonight in 3 sets when she is still somewhat of an underdog, and then loses to Wickmayer in the Semis when everyone thinks she will make the finals.

I hope crowd will carry Melanie through, but it will be very difficult. Caro is tough mentally, and doesn't miss much.

I took Oudin in three mostly as this is what I would like to see happen. I at least hope it's close and not a Caro blowout.
