Default TAT's Graveyard of Former Faves
Please feel free to use this thread to discard former faves. You can only make room for new ones by cutting out the crap on your list.

I come here to bury Robby Ginepri, not to praise him.

He was fun to watch for all of a year. And he's proven to be a big fat dump ever since. Finally get to hardcourts, and he's losing first round matches on what shoud be his best surface.

It was just a couple of years ago he was a USO Semi-Finalist, and firmly in the Top 20.

So I start this new TAT fixture thread by throwing under the bus the still-hot, but not worth getting excited about anymore, Robby Ginepri.

If anyone is watching Big Brother 8, Mike on the show is Robby, right down to being in great shape, having zero charisma, and the poor play.

James Blake, I really don't think I can invest the energy or the time in giving this guy a brain. May he RIP!

I used to like Eleni Daniilidou for all of the vowels in her name and her manly clothing.

But then I met Akgul

I only keep room for 5 faves from the WTA and ATP each. I had to dump Tatiana now that Lindsay's coming back, and Nadia is in serious trouble of getting bumped by Maid Marion.

ATP, I've dumped Rafa for Amer Delic. It's significant that there's finally an American man who doesn't annoy me.

Hand me a shovel for James Blake.

I really liked him circa Hewitt USO controversy way back when, with his Sideshow Bob hair, and classy demeanor. My high school's tennis coach (one of them) played against him in the Ivy League, and was on his mailing list and such back when he was fumbling around the Top 40. He was endearing, and all.

But then I started watching more of his matches on ESPN (how they love their Americans), and I just got so bored. I don't remember him ever toughing out a match, which is how you win my love. I still am fascinated by his kryponitic capacity for Nadal, but other than that, meh.
I find myself rooting against him in live score updating from Indianapolis.
On the plus side, he isn't coming to Washington this year, which leaves more show court time for... Andy Murray

Several weeks back, I did remove Blake and Roddick from my faves list on my profile.

Like with books, music, and other "necessities," I just keep them. I think I'm incapable of dropping anyone. I can move people up and down. Also, if I warm up to someone I didn't really like before and then they do something to remind me why I didn't like them, I'll take them back off the list. But if you start out as a favorite, you're pretty much stuck.

And that is why I ran out of space in my profile.

I was never really big on ATP players prior to Roger but I'm slowing collecting a few. Fena, Marco and Nole at right up there with Rafa sneaking his way in.

WTA is always Venus first and foremost with Serena then Linds. I did not start out liking Kim but she grew on me. I started out liking Maria but the hype sort of killed it (I'm still known to some as a closet Maria fan). Well if I am, she's the only Russian that have kept me sane. I'm really really thinking of dumping Kuzzie if she does not step it up big time. I hope Bepa can come back along with Elena D, but I think it's time to let go of Myskina.

I know. There is only room for the very top on the profile. Roddick may be off my tat profile list, but he's still up there.

For now...

I guess we are similar then, except I don't ran out of space in my profile as I try to keep my list of favorites as short as possible.

Drop him. With all the love he has for himself, and the adulation he gets from Captain McEnroe, he doesn't even know you're there.

I've never dropped a fave before, but this has been coming for a long time (since the Agassi "tribute" )...

Sorry Blake, but it's time for ya to get to steppin'! And I don't care if the door hits ya on the way out!

Hmmm...that sounds way harsh. I just can't take his on-court attitude anymore. The final on Sunday was just another example.

Let's just wait and see what happens when all those girls born in 1990 and after turn 18!

(I could have sent this to the Dumpster by substituting two words in the above, but I'll restrain myself)
