Why is Nadal seeded 1?
Because the tournament list was established at the entry deadline (June 29). Federer will be seeded number 1, Roddick 5, Davydenko 8

What;s the difference between an SE spot and a Wild Card? Are SE spots reserved for people coming from injuries or something?

And, maybe this will turn out to be a stupid question, but: how come three players are out and 4 in?

I think SE spots are for players who would normally have to qualify, but missed the qualification tournament due to making the semis or finals of a tournament in the previous week.

Why are Gasquet and Blake out? Specially taking into consideration that he tanks the clay season to prepare for grass hardcourts (to be crossed out soon too ).

Gasquet is out with "lack of physical prep" (He had 4 weeks to get ready..)

and James is preparing to say that he is all about indoor tennis at this moment and is waiting for the fall.

Albert Montanes also withdrew yesterday.

Actually, Hewitt was already in, as a wild card, but now qualifies as a direct entry. So his former wild card now goes to Canadian Bruno Agostinelli.

They're still awaiting official notice of whether Roger is in or out.

Am I the only one really surprised by this? And suddenly, next week brings Rafa and Roger in the same tournament again, something I didn't expect until the US Open. So excited!

If draw allows, but in any case I would be willing to bet a farm that at least one of them will lose before SF.
