Default Ivanovic Hires Darren Cahill!
The struggling Ana Ivanovic will head to LA the week before the tournament and work with her new coach, Darren Cahill, who has broadcasting duties at the men’s LA Open at UCLA.

This is about the best news for Ivanovic fans since she won the French. Been so hard for her the last 15 months, here's hoping this is the first step in the righting of the ship that will get her back to Slam finals and a run at #1.

Maybe he will make her work on her serve.. I think that has been dragging her whole game down.

At IW08, Darren Cahill stood and talked to Mary for like 20 minutes. She says he's a really sweet guy.

That's nice to hear, Kirkus. He comes across as a genuinely likable guy, and MAry's encounter with him confirms that. He's the anti-Tracy.

Yay! I love Cahill. And his personality is perfect for Ana and he's an excellent coach. He will work with what she has and not try to make her what he thinks she could or should be....he will fine tune everything!

I literally said "yay!" when I read the title. This is good news, I don't think that working with the Addidas team was going to improve her game much; hopefully Darren will. If nothing else this makes her look much more invested in improving her consistency.

I've met him a couple of times now and he's very personable. Good get Ana!

He didn't. He wanted to spend more time with his family and be at home and do commenting stuff.

But....at heart....he's a tennis coach of champions. How could he refuse Ana?

Isn't Cahill, in fact, part of the Adidas coaching team now?

I think he'll be good for her

Now, if Ana results do not change with Darren, will she be known as a one Slam wonder in a few years?

This is great to see. I hope it turns her fortunes around.

Where does he live? Obviously not Australia any more.

But the "commenting stuff" involves a lot of travel too. I don't know if he does much more than the majors, although evidently he's doing Los Angeles.
