Actually, I think it's a really spectacular film, though very dark. It spans three vignettes related to the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic... One is about a blood products buyer/seller in China, the second is about a straight porn actor in Canada (Stockard Channing plays his mother), and the third is about three nuns in Africa (one of whom is Olympia Dukakis).

Be warned... It IS supremely dark.
I just can't believe that I don't recall having heard of this film. AND with Stockard Channing and Olympia Dukakis?!?!? SHEEEESH- shame on me. Will look into this film.....Supremely dark is fine by me, as long as it's well made, AND isn't just about miserable people being miserable- i.e., Breaking the Waves.

Only because......that's the easiest one to pick

Venus, Venus, Venus, why do you do this to us? To yourself?

Come US Open....watch me have sucker or jackass written across my forehead....take your pick.
My pathetic little 2009 V US Open dreams have already started up....

I'm still living in my delusional world where Venus' best on grass beats Serena's best on grass

I think that's part of the reason why I'm not AS sad as I usually am. THAT and the fact that I already spilled all of my emotional crap about this match in chat (sorry for that, chatters, btw)

I am sure that I would have been a real pleasure if I had stayed in Chat longer than 30 seconds this morning.....

....Afraid to ask....

P.S. Venus' best on grass IS better than Serena's. It apparently just doesn't beat Serena's this year. (Go figure. )

Venus had an amazing tournament. She just ran into Serena, that's all.

Well, NBC Nightly News has explained it all. John Yang reported that Venus played with a bad knee, but made no excuses.

Apparently nobody told him about how she'd been playing the rest of the tournament. I mean, having your knee wrapped only means one thing, right?

I know her knee is vulnerable, but I've heard nothing this fortnight (love that word) that the wrap was anything but preventative.

Agree. And unless Venus says otherwise before, anything she or anyone else says after is just pure excuse.
