Forgot that all men's R16 matches are today too. THIS is actually for me the best day of tennis of the year! And I don't work!

Ugh.

I am getting my wisdom teeth removed on Monday. Which means I'll get to see very little of the day's action. Oh well. Wimby can't end quicker.

I'm stoked about Venus/Ivanovic and Azarenka/Petrova.

I'm curious about Safina/Mauresmo, Verdasco/Karlovic, Simon/Ferrero, and Wozniacki/Lisicki.

(I'm going with the higher ranked player in all of those except Mauresmo for the upset.) (And of course I'll be rooting hard for Nadia!)

I would be so happy to see Safina get absolutely crushed by Mauresmo.

Me too. I have no hope for a blow out or even a good match, though. I saw parts of Mauresmo/Pennetta today and I didn't think it was very encouraging. I think it's going to be ugly.

Not today but tomorrow. No play on mid Sunday at Wimby, remember?

I saw all of it, and, except for patches here and there (like serving 4 doubles in the first game), it was really good, especially from Amelie!

This is the last day we are going. I'm so excited for it!

I would be too.

But won't it be difficult to decide what to watch with so many things going on at the same time?

I'm willing to brave that difficulty (It also depends on which court we can get into. Crowds are insane here and they sure love their queues)

This will be a dreamday for tennis fans! What a great schedule of play! Tons of great players, and exciting match-ups!! Just miss three players for a day like this: Justine, Rafa and Kim! Wish I wouldn't go to the work tomorrow afternoon!

So... I have a possibly dumb question.

What do the numbers by the players mean? Not the seed numbers, but the other ones.

It's the line they occupy on the draw, doesn't mean anything

Hopefully your oral surgeon will remember to take out the packings, unlike mine.

I have just realized that I'll spend the whole day tomorrow at a customer in Barcelona. No tennis at all.

"Woman problems" is a popular excuse this week. And if, by chance, your boss/customer are male, trust me, they won't ask any questions.
