Philipp never catches a break at a Slam draw. I'm convinced if there was a formula to calculate it, he'd be near the top in terms of percentage of difficulty in Slam opponents. (maybe I need to devise a formula to calculate this). So, the bad luck guys would be Tursunov, Troicki, Kohlschreiber and Fish. Good luck guys rated between 17 and 23 would probably be Stepanek and Schuettler. Sort of an even draw for Rafa and Rog. Rafa gets Murray and Rodddick but Fed gets Djokie with Soderling lurking early. All is all, I guess Roger has the easier draw. |

Given the questions about Nadal's knee, it's appropriate that Roddick is in that quarter. He'd be a very suitable replacement for Nadal in the semis (and a patsy for Fed in the finals, if it comes to that). But if Nadal withdraws before they begin play, would they jig around the draw, with Del Potro moving up to Nadal's spot?

But if Nadal withdraws before they begin play, would they jig around the draw, with Del Potro moving up to Nadal's spot? someone posted the procedure the other day. If Rafa withdraws before play begins, #5 seed takes his spot in the draw, #17 moves to the spot vacated by #5, and the player next to be seeded (#33) moves to the spot vacated by #17. A lucky loser gets the remaining empty spot. |

From wimbledon tweet: If seeds 1-4 withdraw before order of play is released on Sunday, the fifth seed takes their place in the draw and 17 replaces 5. |
