BREAKING NEWS: Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from next week's Aegon Championships at Queen's Club because of "ongoing knee problems". He says: "I have been having some problems in the past months with my knees, that's no secret, that did not allow me to compete always at 100%. I need to work with my team to recover well, work on my physical condition to be at my top form and get ready for the grass to play at Wimbledon. I hope I can be ready to compete by then." I knew it, just knew it. I really hope he gets better and can defend Wimbledon, which, without preparation is going to be quite a feat in itself. |

I'm convinced something's going on with Rafa that has nothing to do with his knees. Since Miami (even earlier?) there have been rumors that something was going on in his personal life. This entire clay court season he's been flat. I barely saw his family at any of the clay tournaments either, which is highly atypical. Nadal News yesterday showed a news clip of him in Mallorca, practicing with no knee tape. I fear that someone in his family is sick, or something along those lines.

Well, after the Delpo loss he used the words "personal reasons" or something along those lines.
I know his mother, sister and Xisca were at Monte Carlo. His father was at an other tournament also I think. So I really don't know... last year there was a rumor about the divorce of his parents, but I never heard a follow up. |

so his visa didn't come through? or is there another reason? PARIS -- Nikolay Davydenko's participation in the Wimbledon warm-up event at Queen's Club hung in the balance on Tuesday as the Russian was unsure if he would receive a visa in time. Davydenko had an appointment to get his visa last week but missed it as he had to play three days running after rain interrupted proceedings at Roland Garros. "I tried to have it made last week. I should have had an appointment but I played three days in a row. If you remember, I didn't finish my match and the next day I was supposed to have this appointment," he said after being beaten in the French Open quarterfinals by Robin Soderling. "I missed the deadline, and Monday was bank holiday in France, and now I will try tomorrow. I know some players said I would have to wait 10 days for a visa. And now I'm in trouble," he said. The grass-court tournament starts on Monday. "If I go tomorrow, I should be receive my visa by the end of next week," Davydenko added. "I don't know what I can do. I should already play on Monday at Queen's. And for us Russians, it's really important to do it quickly. "I don't know what I can do this week about it," he said. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/ten...ory?id=4224406 |
