Ouch! (i.e. - the truth hurts) Though Nikolay may get to a few more SF's. Actually, I don't think Robredo ever actually has reached a SF. Does he even qualify as a has-been?
More like a wannabe

Safina, Gonzalez and JJ, not withstanding, a more accurate title for this article would be, "10 has-beens unlikely to ever have a shot at a slam again".

The omission of Murray and Azarenka alone makes this article worthy of the Great Tennis Journalism thread.

Let's not be insulting to the has-beens. (And, yes, Tommy has not reached a Slam SF.) Better way to put this= Never-Wuz.

Still- if it's ever about a much more important issue.....great ass, Tommy.

Yay, Elena is first in a ranking other than who double-faults more!!!

Alternate post: As they said in the article, this is very good and very bad at the same time.

James probably cracks a Top-7 or something.

Sadly, I don't think so... Others have performed much better at slams, I think.

When he had that two-year stretch he was one of the four best in the world and kept finding Federer on hardcourts. He's cut in half by being weak on the other two surfaces but he's still a good hard court player.

We'll have to revisit this during the summer hard court swing. His hard court results this year haven't been very impressive. I think he's severely lacking in confidence.

I agree with that. I don't think he'd be high on any 'slam results' list, though. Despite good results on hard courts, I think he has a history of underperforming at slams.

Career Prize Earnings

1 Dementieva (11 M)
2 Schnyder (7.7 M)
3 Safina (7.32 M)
4 Petrova (7.301 M)
5 Jankovic (7.300 M)

Others
Hantuchova (6.2 M)
Zvonareva (6.1 M)
Azarenka (2.6 M)
The article was from Forbes magazine, so this may be their ranking criteria.

The methodology does seem weighted toward veterans at the expense of up-and-coming players. More recent results should weigh more heavily.
