Default The Maria and Justine and the Sisters are Washed Up Thread.
Let's just go there and face this. Everyone is washed up. For me, Parity= Medocrity. Maybe Lleyton and Daniela will be our 2008 ATP and WTA Players of the Year (and the Bondarenkos of course for doubles team of the year)- the way this disaster-year is going. Ick.

Dear missinadre: And HERE ya go.

And, see? Nelslus didn't even give Justine her own Washed Up thread.

This makes me wish I was active on TAT when Justine was having problems winning...just so I could read your funky posts on them and then....when she retired....hmmmm

I may just have to go read this thread from top to bottom.....

This has been a fantastic slam. Can't wait to see Justine at the French!

Wait, what? Justine at the French? Explain to someone extremely confused, please.

Just "fun" speculations.

I believe it was craighickman who speculates that Justine will be back at the French Open

Wishful thinking. I'd be extremely, extremely, excessively surprised (and just as happy) if she came back to defend her 07 Roland Garros win. (Can we not call Ana the defending champion? Shes playing .500 ball post-RG and hasn't gotten past 3rd round in a major.....)

Its not gonna happen though, sadly. I loved that backhand....so much. *sigh*

You have got to be kidding me. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I wake up all anxious in the middle of the night for this crap? To lose to Nancy?

My apologies in advance to Dry. You were right.

I love you, V. But, I have just got to be done with this crap.

Don't want to hear one damned excuse. The wind. The conditions. Any injuries.

You're up 5-2 in the third. You have a match point at 5-4. Of course, you hit the ball out on your match point. You should be able to figure things out by now.

LEARN HOW TO PLAY AGAINST DEFENSIVE PLAYERS ALREADY. LEARN TO HIT THE DAMNED BALL. GET SOME DAMNED COACHING. FIGURE THIS OUT. But, do it on your time. You're on your own except for one tournament, where maybe I'll care again.

Nothing takes away from Venus' incredible legacy. Again, I'll always love you. But, as had to happen with Monica, and Mary Pierce and....I actually BELIEVED she was going to win this tournament. I get it. No Aussie, no French (well, I already got the French wasn't gonna happen.) DAMN IT.

So did I. This was the perfect draw, the perfect time for Venus to win the Australian Open and look at what she does.

Carla played the match of her life. Even so....Venus just pissed this away. I mean....she just pissed it away.

I'm very disappointed.

I want to say horrible things to her

Mind you, I only had the fun of waking up (all anxious of course! silly me! venus must have won by now! i tell myself as i wake up all anxious!) in the middle of the third set.

Carla didn't have to play the match of her life. Venus gets to the Aussie and French these days, and she just gets so timid. When she loses, she plays at best like any other top 75 player. (OF course, this has happened at Wimbledon too, but she manages usually to squeak out of her Hell Matches there.) If you don't hit through someone, and do nothing else but just get the ball in play- THIS is what happens.

Disgusting.

Alternate post:

Of COURSE, as I slowly (I think?!?!) try to talk myself down from my rabid-dog mode- NOTHING will ever take away from all of V's great championships. ESPECIALLY last year's TOTALLY unexpected out-of-nowhere great and incredible gift of V's winning the end of the year championships. (Secret: That had also big-time been on my wish list of "GEE, I wish she'd win this one" items. Always considered the end of year championships to be VERY close to the importance of a Slam- right or wrong.)

Yes, I'm very depressed today. Also, I would love it if she would scout her early round players.

Can't believe I got up for this, and now I can't sleep so torn up about this loss. I kept saying to myself PEOPLE stop picking/toting Venus as a fave here. People stop looking at her draw and thinking "easy enough" I was worried the minute I saw CSN and people (who I will not name) said "don't worry, she can't hurt Vee" YEAH RIGHT!!!! I should have said it's not CSN I'm worried about but Venus hurting Venus.

I love Wimbledon but I want something else Vee... guess you don't.
