After making my SP picks, I always check the schedule to make sure neither of them are playing last, so I'm not nervous during the whole play time. My picks are 2nd (after an ATP match) and 3rd (after 2 WTA matches) up, so I won't be forced to change them.

And we're off!

Who's up and watching?
...
I checked on Jankovic/Cetkovska. I'm pretty sure Cetkovska is the player who made the R16 last year and was double bageled by Ivanovic. It looks like she doesn't have big weapons, but makes smart choices. I can understand how she could win some matches but also be blown off the court.

She's also wearing the blue shoes. WTF is with all these blue shoes!!? Is a company shoving them on all their players? What's happening!? GAK!
...
Meanwhile, in the most important match for moi, my predicted QFist Gicquel is playing Scheuttler. He's up 2-0! One thing I didn't realize until recently is that he's older. I think he's 26. Also, his profile photo looks adorable, but on the livestream he looks even older than 26. I feel like it has something to do with either really low body fat (leading to veins, etc) or a LOT of sun.

I'm watching the Gicquel-Schuettler match too. Gicquel is looking excellent so far. I like matches like these between guys with no obvious, overwhelming, go-to weapons. Lots of interesting strategy/

yeah, I have decided to do some last minute studying as well. Crap. Bad enough I will miss 3 hrs of play this afternoon during my exam, now I also have to study for it instead of watching live tennis... Seriously, who schedules exams during a GS? That's so mean.

LOL. I know, I always think "What? The world continues like normal?" whenever there's a slam. There really should be 8 weeks of international vacation every year so we can be proper fans.
