Because they can't get or defend their trophy, they should withdraw next tournaments to make a self-examination to prevent do it again.
For example, Mary Pierce since lost to Li Na in three years ago of US Open (she won the first set 6-4, she should won next set to face against the eventual champion Maria Sharapova in next round, but she lost the two set 0-6 fairly), she should take a rest at least three months. ![]() But she as usualy played next three tournament (include Luxembourg, Stuggart and Zurich), as a result she lost to her opponents (A. Bondarenko, Jankovic, Srebonik) in first round consecutively!! ![]() ![]() What do you think? ![]() |

I think you need to go back one match, Pierce Chang, to Mary's match against Eva Birnerova in the 2nd round at the USO.
While Mary won that match, I remember thinking while watching that match that if Mary plays like this in her next match (against Li Na), she might take a set, but then would likely end up getting double bagelled. |
