I was scratching my head about why Rainer was playing singles for Germany over Kiefer, til I checked rankings, and was reminded that not only is Schuettler ranked higher than Nick, he's the highest ranked German right now.

Two questions:

1. Who on Earth is S Vovk?

2. Should it be France is tied with Sweden 1-1, then?
1. He is a newbie for teammate of team Russia, he replaced Andreev for suspension in this year of Davis Cup and this tournament.

2. I don't know.

Is anyone else curious why, when the US has Mardy Fish in Germany for the ARAG Competition, they keep having Robby G. playing their singles matches?

Didn't Robby make the R16 at the French last year? He's practically a clay courter!

If I remember correctly, Mardy was named to the team after the Bryans w/d to play doubles.

For a while, his doubles ranking has been higher than his singles ranking. I don't know if that is still the case, though. Anyone know offhand before I bother to look it up?

Edit: He's ranked 20 in doubles and 24 in singles according to the ATP site.

so ...

Roland Garros : Ginepri's ranking :: Wimbledon : Schuettler's ranking ?

Ginepri just has a smaller tentpole propping up his ranking than Schuettler does.

And I'm sure NO TATeurs will misinterpret that remark, because NONE of them have dirty minds at ALL.
