Graf is one of my favorite players ever, but I was being honest.

At any rate, it will be amazing to see her play on the grass in London again, even in exo.

Graf, ahem, hasn't EXACTLY ever been my favorite player......(the Graf/Sampras years= nelslus' hell on earth....).....so far be it from me to discourage any Graf snark.

BUT- interestingly enough, I think that she's gotten considerably better looking since she's retired. More relaxed.

I think neither Steffi nor Cate Blanchett are attractive but they both have a very effortless sense of grace and dignity around them, and in that sense they're similar.

Anyway....
Timmy also had an interview that was more substatially about the roof. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/8010930.stm

I found Steffi much more attractive and graceful when she was playing. Nowadays, in her recent interviews, she seems to me kind of blank, vacant,.... a little bit artificial.

With Kim training the way she is and being as old as she is, I feel a little bad for Graf heading into this. Anyone think she has a chance?

I'll be interested to see what Steffi has to say about how different Center Court plays now, versus back in her heyday. Her backhand slice used to cause her opponents fits on grass. I wonder if it will still be so low?

And yes, Kim clearly has more (confidence/momentum) to gain from an exo set than Steffi does.

I'm thinking that Graf couldn't possibly care less about winning this match.

Does she have all that much to gain from beating a couple long-retired 39-year-olds? I think she has a lot more to lose. She could come out of this looking kinda silly, depending on how "seriously" this exhibition is going to be presented.

I think Kim is approaching this for fun. She's forever stated that Steffi was her idol - Steffi at Wimbledon was the poster a young Kim had hanging in her bedroom. So I don't expect her to be playing this for anything other than the thrill of meeting her idol on Centre Court, and for the enjoyment of the fans.
