Are there facilities for that in Stuttgart?

It's the same tournament, draw size, sponsors, place etc. as last year only now it's in April instead of October and on clay instead of hard...
Don't they hold an ATP outdoor clay tournament? The Mercedes Cup

I am watching Radwanska-Wozniak and indoor clay really is a bit weird. Faster than outdoors, I think.

according to the eurosport commentator, they tried to "copy" the RG courts which apparently are faster then the usual clay courts... (at least when it's hot; then -to quote the commentator- the courts turn into " cement courts with a bit of red dust on top".
:

also, it has been raining in Stuttgart all day, which I guess makes the tournament organizers really, really happy

Very good performance by Agnieszka. Winners 31-22, errors 16-29.

How does Tsvetana Pironkova play lights out tennis when the best of the world are on the other side of the net, and then get bagelled by Alberta Brianti?

Perhaps she is not so good then she has to generate 90% of pace herself? She is not the only player who struggles with that...

Schiavone was infamous for it at one time, Suliso. Would take her game to new places against the best in the world (I first started taking notice of her back in 2002, when she beat Clijsters and Seles at Hopman Cup). Then would have losses that made you go WTF? Fortunately, Francesca elevated her game and got a few years in the Top 20.

I always root for Tsvetana. I like what appears to be her tenaciousness against top players. But it's maddening following her.

Congrats, Tsvetana. Even if you did get broken serving for the match.

I'll be curious to see what she brings to a match against Radwanska the Greater in the next round. A-Rad's 5-1 in their H2H, but they had an intense three setter last year on clay in the semis at Istanbul.

If she's not so good when she has to generate the pace herself, Radwanska the greater is gonna be hell for her, no?

Considering they went three sets the last time they played on clay, it'll be interesting to see what happens here
