Default Ugliest groundstrokes currently in the game
Who do you think has the ugliest groundstrokes in the game right now?

Rafa's got to be up there on the men's side. Ugly groundstrokes, but thanks to luxilon-type string technology (which pinnacled right as he was maturing, luckily for him), he has muscled his way to several slams.

Hewitt's forehand is pretty ugly as well.

On the women's side, there are too many to count.

I've always been a believer in function over form with regards to groundstrokes but I always get a kick out of Venus' form especially when she plays at Wimbledon. Because of her open stance, she often looks absurdly out of position for her shots and I always marvel at how she hits the ball so well from awkward looking positions.

I used to be bored by Rafa's groundstrokes but now I think they're gorgeous.

Hantuchova's service motion grosses me out. She has accordion head.

It's so much easier for me to say whose strokes are the most beautiful. It's hard to be even in the top 100 and have a jerky ground game.

Murray and Djokovic have funky forehands.

Also, in general, the reverse forehand is something that happens way too much, IMO. Yes, in the top 100. HIDEOUS groundstroke.

Oh, yeah, I always think her head will just fall off one of these days.

I think the reverse forehand is kind of cool-looking

Kleybenova! That's the girl I was trying to remember. She looks like a contortionist with that forehand...almost like she's trying to unscrew her shoulder and forearm from their sockets.

IMO, this discussion begins and ends with one word: Bartoli.

She does things so off balance that I feel like I'm going to tip over just watching her.

I've never liked the appearance of Del Potro's forehand. He sticks that racquet way out in his backswing.

~smacks his own head~ You are so right. I think I've tried to purge the troll's existence from my memory.

Roddick's torque-y forehand, a shot only Nascar fans could love.

That's interesting. The "tipping over" image is something I normally reserve for Serena and Tamira when they're running toward a low, sliding ball to their backhand.
