Will Alize rebound after this beating to have a decent clay season?

Doubtful, she says her shoulder is fine but she was touching it quite often

Really? She's seemed over for awhile now. Or at least in cold storage.

Oh Alize. I wonder if she ever recovered from losing to Dinara at the AO. I keep thinking about Tamira and the MPs blown at the AO last year. It's been downhill ever since.

True but still. She's been in a tailspin since being named French #1. Too much for her too soon?

I think she did. Expect today and Indians Wells , she won the matches she had to win.

Tamira has been playing better recently. I don't think it's all lost, albeit any real success is unlikely until she learns how to serve...

And count me in among those surprised by Alize's early loss. Sure her recent results have been mediocre, but red clay was supposed to make a difference. I guess not...

And what, pray tell, is wrong with double faulting three times per game and never getting your serve speed over 54 mph? Perhaps you've set expectations just a tad TOO high. What's next? Expecting first serves to top 60 mph?

I swear... You people are so mean!

I think Tamira does a great job of serving for someone who can't lift either arm over her boobs.

Good point about losing matches at AO in dramatic fashion.

I think she rode her momentum as high as she's gonna. Her style of play just won't allow her to really breakthrough. Saw her lose at the US Open and she seemed like such a whiner. But again, she was losing.
