So let me get this straight.

He sees her in a magazine. His agent hunts down her phone number. They meet. And now marry.

She's young but it can work if they want it to. The trouble is to many people don't try to make it work and run at the first sign of trouble.

I got married at 22 years and have been happily married for 18 years. Maybe I'm one of the exceptions.

Foxy
I got married at 23 and 2 months; 9 months later I told her to get the **** out and to be sure to take her credit card bills and bank overdraft statements with her.

LOL. I thought that over too.

I heard (or read) somewhere that that's also how it went down with Sampras and Bridget Wilson. He saw her in a movie and asked someone to get her number.

Michael Douglas did that to meet Catherine Zeta Jones too. But that's a different story all together.

I'd feel like a creep. But maybe on some level women find this charming?

I would never do that, but I had someone do that to me once (never met me and tried to hunt me down for romantic purposes) and I just found it creepy.

Although maybe just their execution was just bad.

Has forever gotten that short?
how strange that no one has yet organized a "How long will Andy R. be married contest?" with a system of wages

I'm in shock... Thats insane. I don't really see it lasting, but congrats Andy.

I'm 20, and there's no way I would think about getting married!

I'm sure the young lady is looking out for her financial future head over heels in love and that she has no idea who Heather Mills McCartney is.

I'm with Kirk on this one.

Sounds more like catalog shopping than dating and getting to know someone.

I'm more concerned about Roddick's readiness for family life, given his famously wandering.. eyes, than hers. But other than that, what's the problem with two people in their 20s getting married? Why does it have to be a setup?

I know you and i have been down this road before. Last time I just spouted my opinon, but there has been sociological and psychological evidence that indicates that young people in their 20's today are more immature than their counterparts in earlier generations. They have extended adolesence. The below is a few years old, but it still applies even more now than before.

I stand by my position that the early 20's in most cases is too young to get married.
