Default Most Beautiful grounstrokes currently in tennis
Just talking aesthetics here.

I have to say that I think Olivier Rochus has one of the best looking one-handed backhands...I'd tie him with Gasquet, though Gasquet's is obviously the bigger weapon. Two-handed backhands are univerally ugly.

Is there a woman currently playing with a one-handed backhand? Besides Mauresmo, I mean?

I think I've said before Tomas Berdych has one of the most natural strokes. I think he would be the most enjoyable player to watch... practice. Unfortunately, I've only really seen him play in matches, which is mostly agony.

My first thought.

On the WTA, give me Serena's serve and Suarez's backhand.

Really? I would say yes to her backhand and vollies. But her forehand and serve are so stiff. They don't flow at all like CSN's strokes or Serena's serve.

Zvonareva is fun to watch in a purely physical way. Ditto Clijsters. Jankovic is pretty fierce too.

Mario Ancic's serve. Mark Knowles at net.

Wait, those aren't groundstrokes.

Oui!!

I have always been partial to players with one handed backhands.

Rafael Nadal crosscourt and down the line forehand.

Elena Dementieva forehand and backhand.

Tsonga forehand!

Serena serve!

Murray backhand (double hande and slice).

In a ordinary form...anything Fereder does is perfect!

Have to agree. She's a beautiful volleyer, but I always found the rest of her game so loopy and, well, weak. And I hate the way she jumps into her forehand.

I should have added earlier, while not necessarily "current," cleanest strokes: DAVENPORT! The sound of the ball coming off her racquet was heavenly. And the helicopter forehand!

Yeah, my favorite part of his game are his passing shots.

Gasquet's backhand, especially on grass.

Federer's forehand (when he is actually making it )

Safin's backhand when it is on.

Jelena Jankovic's backhand

Maria Kirilenko shots

Ferrero forehand

I haven't seen it in a while, but Serena's off forehand that land really short and out wide in the court and then just continues to veer off at a wicket angle is one of my favorite shots in the sport. but I haven't seen it in ages.

I agree with so many of the others that have been suggested, especially as they relate Gasquet. But it's just too painful to watch him play. Everything about his matches is just, well, heavy on the emotions.

The last time I saw Isner play, he was pretty impressive, for the record. He can play good tennis. He's not just another big serve/big forehand American when the other parts of his game are clicking.

I almost always enjoy a David Ferrer match. He's got great wheels.

Refresh my memory? Who was the woman in charleston that had the backhand down the line clicking so well? Was it Wozniacki?

I miss Roger's "sick" winners (the impossible "making offense out of defense" winners).

I've really grown to enjoy watching the new Verdasco.

Just my additions to the thread.

I love Amelie's strokes, and Jelena's. I also love Venus' strokes for about 5 or 6 games in a match, and then I often hate them.

Safin's backhand when it is on.
The one where he has to jump about 5 inches up, with the left leg a little higher and then it lands right in the corner on both lines. For some reason, I'm always watching his feet on those shots.

Moya's forehand. Moya's backhand.

Andreev and Verdasco's forehands make me feel like I'm watching an action movie.

Fernando Gonzalez' slice backhand, because his face always looks funny when he hits them.
