Nick's commenting about Mary (and Jelena Dokic) working out down at Bolleterri. No comeback date, but the comments are that she's working out hard down there. May well be that she never returns to the Tour, but it's nice to see she hasn't given up yet.

Don't know if they are there together (the photos and blurb on Nick's site don't let you know), but there could not be a better peson for Jelena to have within reach than Mary Pierce. So many of the same issues, so much commonality to their games, and I'm sure Mary would have some very wise words for Jelena as Dokic continues her comeback efforts.

Both are right handers with two handed backhands, whose success in any match specifically hinges on the effectiveness of an extremely powerful forehand. Both have been prone to nagging injuries their entire career. Both have gotten to points of great fitness, and cover the court decently, but also can tend to get out of shape if they are not pushing themselves. Both are power players, yet have had a lot of success on red clay.

And that's not even mentioning multiple citizenships, overbearing daddies, relationships with professional athletes, Bolleterri connections,...

Come to think of it, has anyone ever seen Mary and Jelena in the same room at the same time?
