Default Steffi/Kim, Andre/Tim at Wimbledon?
Graf and Agassi lined up for nostalgic Wimbledon return
By Mike Dickson
Last updated at 7:13 PM on 06th February 2009

Steffi Graf and husband Andre Agassi are being lined up for a nostalgic return to Wimbledon to play in exhibition matches which will test conditions under the new Centre Court roof.
Negotiations with the couple are said to be at an advanced stage for the event on May 17 that is hoped to be played before a full house of 15,000.

Graf retired in 1999 while Agassi has been out of the game for two years and the pair spend most of their time at their main home in Las Vegas. The American would face Tim Henman in a singles match while Graf's opponent could be Belgium's former world No 1 Kim Clijsters.

Nice!

Steffi and Andre should have entered the MD mixed doubles!

She promised him during AO 2003 that she'd play mixed with him at RG if he won. But she obviously broke that promise.

I'd love to know the size of the checks that would accompany this. Kim probably not so much (though I'm sure it will still be a nice payday), but getting Andre and Steffi on court. And Tim Henman?

I'd think selling 15,000 seats won't be much of a challenge with this line up

This would be an awesome exhibition - I hope it will be televised.

This seems like the right speed for Kimmy instead of trying to still be a force on the tour.

Steffi AND Kim? Slow down, heart, slow down.

They played once, I remember, in Wimbledon in 99. Steffi won 2 and 2, but Kim was so very young and I remember Steffi said nice things about her after the match. I believe it was the fourth round. Anyway... that had nothing to do with anything; I'll stop now.

Yeah, right? Hopefully it won't be happening at the same time as an actual 4r womens match because those stands would be quite empty.

My mind went straight to Kanepi/Kvitova at last year's Roland Garros.

HOW can you remember these things? I'd be lucky if I could mention 2 R-4 matches of this AO.

If you go, and get pictures, I'll name my firstborn after you.

MMMM8 could be considered one of those unisex names, like Pat, right?

What will you do if I steal Kimmie's baby and FedEx her to you?

hmmmmm. Depends. Is Kimmie still fit enough that she would put a monster beat down on me when she shows up at my door to take her back?

Oh, you know she's too nice for that. She'll probably be leading you 5 blows to 1 and then let you beat her 7-5
