Default is Kim coming back ?
ok, this is a paper in a belgium journal found by patrick. I'm just translating for all you Kim fans.

http://www.lesoir.be/msnsports/actua...e_687624.shtml

Summarized:
Kim is playing again, at least praticing with her old sparing partner Wim Fisette.
Apparently, since the death of her father, Kim is playing to change her mind. She is also very impressed by all those sports people coming back from retirement, such as Armstrong. She appears to be contemplating coming back to the WTA not full time, but on chosen WTA events such as Luxembourg or Los Angeles. It is also said that Kim played a set against Flipkens before she left for Australia, and Kim would have won 6-4 ...

Anyway, exhibitions during the summer or even the little Torhout event in April could be possible events for Kim to come out.

All this is expressed in a hypothetic form, so maybe, maybe not ... but if she wants to, why not ?

Allez Kim !

(as long a it's not Justine)

I'm not sure what it means that she would only choose to participate in certain events.

For Moose and morct especially, I really hope it happens.

Also, let's not lie. The WTA is suffering. They need all the help they can get. Kim could be Top-3 easily in this current era IMHO.

She never did much for me, but I'm happy to say that I am 100% sure she's coming back. I really can't see her not.

I saw this and then asked a Belgian friend what he thought about it. He said that it seems she's only going to play exhibitions.

Said Belgian hadn't heard this latest news when I just talked to him about it

LOL one mother gets knocked up for the second time and another is contemplating her return.
I swear, Saint Kim and Lindsay have some weird June 8 (their birthdays) going on.
Remember, Lindsay started back playing exhibitions too.

Wertheim said last year that the only barrier to Kim's return was her father's health.

Gonna be interesting to see this story play out. You all know what my sentiments on the subject are. I won't say anything here.

I'll say it down here...

FREAKIN' YEA.....KIMMIE MIGHT BE BACK. BEST NEWS OF THE MONTH

I doubt she is going to neglect caring for her baby. She just does not strike me as the type. I believe it will be Exhos only.

From Kim's site:

Clijsters is planning exhibition matches in 2009 03-02-2009

Recently Kim Clijsters has been training regularly, together with her former sparring partner Wim Fissette and physical coach Sam Verslegers. Kim' s aim for 2009 is to participate in some exhibition matches.

"There certainly was demand for this and it seemed a nice opportunity to her to start training again, with a clear aim in mind. Training becomes her, but there is no returning to the official circuit," according to Bob Verbeeck of Golazo sports.

It is still early to precisely schedule the exhibition matches, the plans will be unveiled somewhere in March.

On 6 May 2007 Kim Clijsters announced through her web site that she quit professional tennis. On 14 July she tied the knot with Brian Lynch. Together they now have a daughter, Jada Ellie.

In her career as a profesionnal tennis player, Clijsters won no less than 34 titles. She is a former number 1 at the WTA ranking. In 2005 she won her only Grand Slam at the US Open.

Moose, I know how badly you want this (heck, she was my favourite player too), but I really believe it's not going to happen. Her retirement wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing, it was planned long in advance (just accelerated a bit by the pregnancy). I think it was always clear how important motherhood and family-ness was to her--I don't believe that she'd have any regrets about her decision now. As for her being an easy top-three player now--well, she was always frustrating to follow, and not mentally strong either. Throw in the little injuries she always seemed to have, and I think she's just another one in the mix from 1-8, depending on what phase of the moon it is this week.

That phrase pretty much underscores the WTA.... sorry....

Well it'll be nice to at least see the exho! I bet she could come back if they go well. It probably wouldn't be full time. I could see her playing 12 tournaments in 2010.
