Roger should mix in serve and volley because Nadal is returning from 6th row. Just to keep him honest.

This is quite an ugly match to start. Raja can't stay aggressive against Rafa (nothing new there, though) and Rafa can't buy a first serve on a big point.

Rafa may regret not doing anything with that gift of a break he got in the first game of the match.

The ESPN commentators are going crazy, acting like this is the most intriguing opening imaginable to this match but this is really uneven stuff. There've been some wonderful shots but some major brain cramps already.

This match is a bundle of nerves. Rafa's neutral groundstrokes have no depth on them, his serve sucks, and yet here we are at 4-4.

While I miss very much having a normal TV screen this AO, I'm not missing ESPN coverage even a little bit.

Patrick really just needs to shut up. It's like he's calling the match he wants to see, not the one unfolding before his lying eyes.

Cmon Roger think!

Slice the ball to Nada's backhand on return of serve. Your topspin short returns don't do anything except set up for Nadal's hook to dominate the point.

This looks kind of boring. 1 v. 2 on a new surface, for a new slam title. Eh I'll watch a highlight or two on SC.

Hey, I'm in fighting form. I really wanted to see this one live, but it starts at 1:30 a.m. here. So I stayed up for half of Rafa/Hot Sauce and slept in, up for the poor itty bitty women's final. It discouraged me so much I slept in till 1 p.m. this afternoon. So I should be wide awake for the big one. Haven't given any thought to how I'm going to get back to a "real" schedule again, but who cares -- it's tennis.
